Fancy text is made of special characters, not real fonts. Screen readers may read it badly, so keep it for decoration. Your text never leaves your browser, and the size slider changes the preview only.

How to Use the Star Text Generator in 3 Steps

  1. Type a line to light up

Enter a name, a nickname or a short caption. The stars are added on both sides, so a single word or a short phrase looks best.

  2. Choose colourful or plain stars

Rows such as Golden Stars, Starry Night and Galaxy use colourful emoji. Solid Stars, Sparkle Joiner and Kira Kira use text symbols that follow the colour of your text.

  3. Copy it and paste it

Click a style to copy it, paste it into your bio or post and look at it once on a second device before you share it.

How the Star Text Generator Works

The generator keeps the words you type and adds stars around them. Nothing is installed and no picture is made: every star is a character, so the result pastes into a bio, a caption or a chat like any other text. Some styles also swap the letters for a bold, script or monospace alphabet first, and a few place a small star between the letters instead of around the line.

Two Kinds of Stars

The first kind is the colourful emoji row, which is about two thirds of the styles on this page. Single-emoji frames such as Yellow Star, Glowing Star, Sparkles and Shooting Star put one emoji on each side, and Comet Trail, Telescope Night, Night Owl and Planet Hop add small themed rows. Golden Stars, Starry Night, Shooting Stars, Galaxy, Celebrity, Star Magic, Make a Wish, Dreamy Sky, Star Royalty, Starry Love, Angel Light and Star Voyage each combine seven or so emoji that belong to one scene. The left side reads forward and the right side reads in reverse, so the pattern is the same on both sides of your words. Long Star Row repeats a short run three times for a wide, glittering band.

The second kind is the text star. Solid Stars, Hollow Stars, Six-Point Stars and Four-Point Sparkles are single characters in the colour of your text. Star Dust, Twinkle, Kira Kira, Night Stars and Wish Sparkle combine stars with dots, lines and small marks for a softer, more handmade feel.

Star Styles by Use

  • Dreamy and night-time: Starry Night, Dreamy Sky, Moon and Stars and Angel Light suit calm, late-evening captions.
  • Celebration and success: Celebrity, Star Royalty and Golden Stars fit a birthday, an award or an announcement.
  • Space and adventure: Galaxy and Star Voyage pair stars with planets, comets and a rocket.
  • Quiet decoration: Solid Stars, Hollow Stars and Star Dust add a single touch of sparkle without hiding the words.
  • Between the letters: The joiner styles put a star, a sparkle, a yellow star or a gold star emoji between each pair of letters, and Star After Each Letter adds one small star behind every character. All of them work best on one short word.
  • With another alphabet: Bold, Script, Monospace and Wide Stars combine a different letter style with a star frame.

Picking Between a Text Star and an Emoji Star

A text star follows your text, so if your bio is displayed in pink the stars are pink too, and they stay the same shape on most devices. An emoji star has its own colours, which makes the line eye-catching but also means it changes from phone to phone. When a message must look identical for everyone, pick a text star. When you want colour and a clear theme, pick an emoji row.

Tips for Star Text

  • Match the density to the line. A short word can carry a full row of seven stars, while a sentence looks better with a single pair.
  • Test the rarer text stars on a second device, because rarer characters can show up as boxes on older systems.
  • Remember that screen readers speak each emoji aloud, so a row of seven emoji is heard as seven names.
  • Keep usernames plain. Most apps allow stars in a display name but not in the handle itself.

Star Text Generator FAQ

Are these stars emoji or text symbols?

Both kinds are here. Golden Stars, Shooting Stars, Galaxy and the other emoji rows use colourful pictures that each phone draws in its own style. Solid Stars, Hollow Stars, Star Dust and the sparkle styles are plain characters that take the colour of your text.

Why does the mirrored row look the same on both sides?

The emoji rows are written forward on the left and in reverse on the right, so the pattern is symmetrical around your words. Styles with a different symbol on each side, such as the moon and star pairs, work the same way.

Can I use these stars in a username?

Usually only in the display name. Many services accept letters, numbers and a few symbols in a username, so check the rules before you try a star style on a handle.

Will the star symbols show up on every phone?

The solid and outlined five-point stars are very old characters and nearly every device has them. Rarer shapes such as the pinwheel and shadow stars depend on the font, so test them on a second phone.

What is the difference between ★, ☆ and ⭐?

The first two are text stars, filled and outlined, and they follow your text colour. The last one is an emoji with its own yellow colour, which looks different on Apple, Google and Samsung devices.

How many stars are too many?

Seven or so on each side is the limit for a short line on a phone screen. Beyond that, the stars push your words off the first line, and screen readers read out every one of them.
